Mediapool

General

The media pool contains all media used for editing templates and creating playlists.

The term media refers to any type of media file such as image files, video files, audio files. In the upper program window section you can find Pixabay.

Access Mediapool

Click on the Mediapool function on the left side of the program interface or on Media in the main area of the Home Screen.

Media

Clicking on the Media button opens the media area, which provides the Pixabay image database in the upper part and the Mediapool in the lower part.

On the left side, the individual categories can be selected in a menu and in a directory by clicking on them.

Upper Function Bar

In the upper function bar above Pixabay you can open or close the directory by clicking on Sitemap. The magnifying glass functions allow you to change the view size of the folder items.

Input Field for Search Term

The Pixabay and Mediapool areas each provide a search field that helps you to select media by entering specific terms. Enter a search term in the input field and confirm with the Enter key or click on Search. The results will then be displayed as a preview image in the respective archive.

Open the Mediapool in the Playlist Editor

While you are editing your playlists, the Media button =  on the right side of the playlist editor or the Media bar after opening the right column is available =

Clicking it gives you access to the Mediapool.

If you are editing a template in the Template Editor and have selected the view of the WYSIWYG Editor for that purpose, you can open the Mediapool by double-clicking on a media element in the Template Preview area to exchange the image in the template.

If you edit a template in the Template Editor and have selected the List View for this purpose, you can open the Mediapool by double-clicking on a preview image in the element row to exchange the image in the template.

The Mediapool has the following areas:
  1. Upper function bar
  2. Pixabay
  3. Bar with currently selected folder display and three editing options
  4. Box for entering a search term 
  5. Column with a directory structure
  6. Media archive with media thumbnails
  7. Lower function bar

Directory Structure

The directory consists of six superordinate directories → see Fig. Click to open a directory. The currently opened directory can be seen in the upper bar → Bar with editing functions.

You can open the view of the existing subfolders by clicking on  and then close it by clicking on 

Function Bar above the Mediapool

The bar on the furthest left shows the directory that you have currently accessed → in the illustration My Mediapool. Three editing functions follow.

Add Folder

To add a new folder to the directory, click on this function in the function bar.

Input Window

A window opens in which you can enter a name → No mandatory field. If you don't enter a name, click OK and the folder will be created under the name NEW.

Delete Folder

If you want to delete a folder, then click on it in the directory and then on this button → which is provided in the upper bar.

Then this security prompt appears which you should confirm with a click on Yes.

ATTENTION: You can NOT undo the deletion any more!

Upload Media to the Mediapool

If you want to add media to your Mediapool via your browser, then click on this function =

Copy Media

If you want to drag and drop media from Pixabay or within the Mediapool into a Mediapool folder, click on a thumbnail and move it to the destination folder while holding down the left mouse button and then release the button.

Right-click on a media to open this context menu:

Media Info of an image

If you click on the menu item Media info in the context menu of an image, you will receive information about the name, the size and the date of processing as well as the option of image cropping.

You can choose between two methods:

  1. Click on Crop image.
    This opens another window which allows you to edit the image according to your view. When you are finished click Save.
  2. Overwrite the numerical values in the input fields and then click Apply.

Media Info of a Film

If you click on the menu item Media info in the context menu of a film, you will receive information about the name, the size, the duration, the codec and the date of editing as well as the possibility to create a preview image. You can do this at the point that appears to you to be the most impressive in the film.

  1. Start the film and wait until you see a appropriate scene.
  2. Then click on the Preview Image function at the desired scene.
  3. Click Close.

Preview

You have the option of viewing each media item in its original size in a separate preview window.

To do this, click on the menu item Preview in the context menu and a window will open as shown on the right.

Rename

You can rename media and give them individual names. Click on the menu item to open an input window. Overwrite the name and click Okay.

Download

If you click on the Download menu item in the context menu of a media, a copy is automatically loaded into the download folder of your computer.

Delete

To remove a media from the folder, click on the item, open the context menu, and then choose Delete.

Then confirm the security prompt in the prompt that appears by clicking Yes.
