Add Ticker

 

Procedure

  1. Go to Playlists management. 
  2. Select a playlist or create a  new playlist.
  3. Click on the Plus Symbol → in Playlists program window.
  4. Choose the menu item Ticker.
  5. Click on New Ticker.

Clicking the New Ticker menu item first provides a placeholder for the content in the playlist and a corresponding settings area on the right side of the program window.

Settings

Use the Settings area to determine the source of the ticker text and, if necessary, adjust the name of the ticker.

There are two ways to define the source of the ticker text:

  1. Entering a link to an RSS feed or to a text file
    To do this, insert the link under URL in the settings and save the setting.
  2. Typing text manually
    To do this, enter the text you want in the text field under Text input and then save your entry.

Representation Area

  1. Format the font. Specify Type - Size - Color.
  2. Specify the Background Color and its Transparency.
  3. Move the ticker with Drag & Drop in the Screen Preview
    or change the position by entering a numerical value in % in the input field.
  4. In case of a RSS ticker, determine which information you want to display:
    Title - Link - Description.
  5. Specify the separators between the information → Splitter by entering characters
    or letters.
  6. Determine the Ticker Running Speed by moving the slider.

  7. You have the possibility to insert a picture at the beginning → left as well as
    at the end of the  ticker → right.

    You can also display the current time on the left side. In this case, however, we recommend that you do not insert a picture there. With the help of the slider underneath you can define the inner distance. For an exact input, enter a numerical value in the adjacent input field.

Create Ticker Template

Create a ticker template from the settings you have made, for the purpose of using these settings for further tickers.

  1. To do this, click the function → Save as template.
  2. Name the template and confirm with →  Save.

Select Ticker Template

Once you have saved a ticker template, you can create a new ticker from the template.

Procedure:

  1. Go to Playlists management and select the playlist in which you want to insert the ticker.
  2. Click on the Plus Symbol → in the playlist in which you want to add the ticker.
  3. Select the Ticker menu item.
  4. Click on the name of the Ticker Template.

Multiple Tickers in one Playlist

It is possible to use more than one ticker with different information/sources in one playlist by defining different runtimes for each ticker. You can do this via the timer → Timer.

Use the time control to specify the time at which the respective ticker should be displayed. These areas are provided for this purpose:

1. Weekday

All weekdays are generally activated in this area. You can deactivate the respective days by clicking on them:

The time units calendar week and month can also be selected in this area:

This area allows you to specify a running time:

Time Control Indication

You can see all entries that you have set in the time control in the Playlist Line of the respective ticker. 

If you have not made any settings in the time control, the ticker will be displayed during the entire playlist runtime.

  1. If necessary, click on → Preview to check the result.
  2. Click → Save to save your changes or click → Release
    to save the playlist and enable it to play on your output device.
