Control for Multiple Screens

This chapter describes the setup of a touch control for multiple screens using an example for real estate.

The following illustration shows how the example would look in practice:

  • Screen 1 is a touch screen and is used to control content on Screen 2. By selecting an element on the touch screen (Screen 1), the corresponding content is played on Screen 2. As long as no selection/touch action is performed on Screen 1, a screensaver is played on Screen 2.
  • Screen 2 shows advertising videos as a screensaver until a touch action takes place on Screen 1. After that, Screen 2 shows the content selected on Screen 1. The screensaver switches on again automatically as soon as the touch control on Screen 1 is not used for a longer period of time.

SETTING UP A TOUCH CONTROL FOR MULTIPLE SCREENS

Procedure in the Cloud Software:

  1. Create two playlists in → Playlists.
    - A Content Playlist → create the templates for this in the → HTML5 Editor.
    - A Control Playlist → create the template for this in the → HTML5 Editor as well.
  2. Edit the layout in → Devices.

Playlists

Create two new playlists in → Playlists and combine them into one group (recommended). One playlist will have the function of a control playlist and the other will have the function of a content playlist.

In this description, as an example, the playlists are grouped for better overview and the following names are used:

  • Group → Touch Control
  • Control playlist → Control Playlist
  • Content playlist → Content Playlist

Create Content Playlist

  1. In the HTML5 Editor, create all the templates that are to be controlled via the selection fields of the template in the Control Playlist.
  2. Then go back to → Playlists and add these templates to the Content Playlist.
  3. Assign a meaningful name as an Alias for each template.
  1. Then activate the → Key control for the entire playlist under → Settings.
  1. Complete the process by clicking → Save. If you want to save the playlist and release it directly, click → Release.

Create Control Playlist

  1. Create a new screen in the control playlist. Click on the Plus Icon →  and then click the menu item → New Screen. The HTML 5 Editor opens.
  1. In the HTML5 Editor, create a template with the corresponding selection fields for the touch control and link them to the corresponding aliases that you have assigned in the content playlist using the → Click event option. In this example, the "Real Estate" selection field within the HTML5 Editor is linked to the "Real Estate" alias from the content playlist.
  1. Activate the → Key control under unter → Settings.
  1. Complete the process by clicking → Save. If you want to save the playlist and release it directly, click → Release.

Device Management

  1. Go to → Devices and click on the function → Edit layout in the device line of the desired device.
  1. Click on the Plus icon to add an additional display.
  2. Assign the control playlist to the touch monitor and the content playlist to the other display.
  3. Complete the process with → Save.
