Timer
What is Cloud Software Timer?
Using the Timer features allows you to define the runtime/playback time of your playlists, as well as individual contents within a selected playlist.
After accessing a playlist you will find the Timer area on the right side of the playlist program window.
The playback behavior of your player then depends on the entries you have made in this area.
When do you need the Cloud Software Timer?
Whenever playlists and contents of playlists should be automatically activated or deactivated for playback at certain times.
- At certain times of day
- On certain weekdays
- On a certain date
- At certain periods of the week
- In certain months
- At certain times
Time control of the Complete Playliste
As described in the chapter → Entire Playlist Functions you can select the Timer area on the right side of the program window in the playlist management for a selected playlist and then determine the runtime of the complete playlist.
The setting options refer to
- the input of a time at the beginning of the playback time
- the input of a time to end the playback time
- the determination of weekdays by clicking on the corresponding abbreviation
Time Control of Elements within a Playlist
If a playlist contains an element which includes content that should not be shown at every time the complete playlist runs, but at certain times:
- Select the corresponding playlist
- Select the corresponding element
- Go to the Timer area on the right side of the program window
1. Timer Type Classic
In this time control type, you can first define the weekdays on which the content of the selected playlist element is to be played.
Specify Weekdays
Deactivate the days of the week on which the content is not to be played by clicking on the relevant weekday abbreviation.
Input Range Date
In this input field, the time unit Date is selected by default. By clicking on the triangle, you can open a selection list from which you can also select the time units Calendar Week or Month. Please read the following sections.
Time Unit Date
- By clicking in the first box you activate the time control via the date. In the box next to it, enter the day on which the element is to be played when the playlist is played.

Using the calendar icon at the right end of the line you open a calendar view.
- Select your desired date by clicking on it.
Define Period

By clicking in the second box you activate the option to enter another date, which will then determine the end of the playback time. This is how you create playback periods.

Enter a date in the following input field or open the calendar function next to it to set a date from there.
- Determine the date.
The playback period you have defined is then shown in the line of the playlist element according to your entries.
Time Unit Calendar Week
The input field Date provides a selection list from which you can also select the time unit Calendar week. As soon as you move the mouse over the selection fields from → or to → two opposite arrows appear. Click the currently displayed calendar week up by using the up arrow or click it down by using the down arrow. You can also click in the input field and overwrite the specified calendar week.
Time Unit Month
As a third option, the selection menu provides you the time unit Month.
If you have selected the time unit Month, you can click in the selection field from → or to → to open a selection menu from which you can select another month.
Input Area Time
In this input field, the time unit Time is selected by default. You can open a selection list by clicking on the triangle and then also select the Alarm Mode option. Please read the following sections.
Time Unit Time
You have selected the time unit Time. Click in the box in front of from/to so that you can set the times → 1. In the first field, after clicking, you can directly overwrite the time for the start of the playback time or you can also use the arrows → 2. In the same way, you can set the end of the playback time in the second field → 3.
Set Playback Frequency
f you don't want the playlist element to play at the entered from/to time every time the playlist is played, you can restrict this using the → Play every feature.
After clicking in the first field, you can set the playback frequency directly or you can use the arrows to do so.
In the second field you can use a selection list to determine whether this frequency refers to the hour, the day, the week or the month.
Play Exclusive
The playlist element shown in the figure is played exclusively
• | from 09.03.2020 to 16.03.2020 |

• | on weekdays Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat |
• | from 10.00 - 10.07 |
as the only element of the playlist.
Outside the specified playback period, the regular playlist will be played again without the exclusive element.
You can insert several exclusive elements into a playlist by setting different times for these elements.
Alarm Mode
Instead of the time, an alarm mode is available as an alternative, which then causes the element to play back with the same precision as an alarm clock.
This feature can be used for a ticker or for a precise announcement of the closing time.
In the illustration you can see the setting:
Play 3 times at 10:00 am and repeat every 60 minutes until 12:00 am
